Sharon Lanham age 75, of Moss Point, Mississippi passed away on May 18, 2026 at Lighthouse Assisted Living and Memory Care in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Sharon was born to the late Roy DeWitt Lanham and Joetta (Davis) Lanham Mabry on August 2, 1950. Sharon grew up in the Moss Point Community. She was proceeded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother Roy “DeWitt” Lanham Jr. of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and numerous family and friends that treasured her.
Sharon was a lifelong educator. After receiving her master's degree in education, Sharon worked first as a school teacher, then accepted a position with McMillan Publishing, followed by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company and later McGraw Hill Publishing. She worked in the textbook industry until her retirement. Her wonderful gifts as an educator helped her follow her life’s passion of sharing God‘s love as a children’s Sunday school teacher, which she enjoyed throughout her life.
She will forever be remembered for her laugh and beautiful smile, for her kindness and love for her family and friends, the joy that she took in traveling and seeing the world, but most of all for her love of God. Sharon embraced life, worked hard, had fun and honored the Lord.
Along with her Bible, Sharon treasured her copy of Oswald Chambers “My Utmost for His Highest”, carrying it with her throughout each and every journey in her life from New York to Italy, and from Peru to Mississippi the worn and well-studied pages remind us that Sharon sought the Lord‘s guidance daily through prayer and devotion.
Sharon has fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. She will be remembered always with love.
2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
