Shirley Jean Sutter, age 90, passed away July 2, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Hosie Edward Loftin and Lougenia Gamble Loftin on February 15, 1935, in Prentiss, MS.
She graduated with an associate’s degree in human services and an associate's degree in business from the University of Southern Mississippi. After college she went on to work for Pascagoula School District as an accountant and was president of Mississippi Association Education Office Professionals. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 75 years. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and make every family gathering special. She enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching football with her husband, Sam.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Samuel, her parents Hosie Edward Loftin and Lougenia Loftin, sister, Avon French and brother, Cyril (Sonny) Loftin.
She is survived by her Children, David Allen (Pam), Rebecca Sutter, Jill Dedeaux (Donald Ray) and Julie Craven (Russell); grandchildren, Brandon Allen (Lori), Brooke Sawyer, Clint Craven, Megan Sutter and Noah Craven. She has five Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the O’Bryant-OKeefe in Pascagoula, between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 5. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm. Interment will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Dublin Baptist Church Cemetary, Carson, MS.
