Shirley Ann Johnson Wooton, age 81, of Nairn, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born October 28, 1943 in Apalachicola, Florida and graduated from Buras High School in Plaquemine Parish, Louisiana. Shirley retired from Chevron as Operation Assistant after employment of over 20 years.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Wooton; son, Ralph Clinton Wooton; four sisters, Jessie Ronguillo, Nora Hunnings, Martha Wilson and Janie Wilson; grandson, Kyle Wooton; great grandson, Preston Wooton.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Chancellor Mitch Wooton (Christine), Pascagoula; Christopher Gannon Wooton (Cynthia) Belle Chasse, LA; seven grandchildren, Chance Wooton (Miranda), Kelsey Wooton, Faith Wooton (her fiancé James Phillips) , Candice Rayborn (Jansen), Kristen Quigley (Jacob), Caleb Wooton (Samantha) and Catherine Wooton (her fiancé, Dylan Kirk) ; 13 great grandchildren, Violet, Willow, GraceLyn, Kayden, Olivia, and Colton Wooton; Carter, Caroline, and Annie-Clarke Rayborn; Owen and Collier Quigley and Oliver Wooton.
A Committal service will be Tuesday, May 6, 2025, 10:00am, where she will be entombed by her husband and son at Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola, Florida. Memorials may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Foundation.
