Thomas Lininger Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Robert Lininger, age 74, of Gautier passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 10, 1947 in Beloit, WI and has been a longtime resident of Gautier.

Tom proudly served United States Army in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. He supported the M.I.A. and P.O.W. organizations and he knew how important their service was to our freedom.

He was truly a “Jack-of-all Trades” and enjoyed so many employment opportunities in Jackson County, one of the greatest being a volunteer Fireman in the north Gautier area.  One of his greatest joys in life were traveling in his motorhome and NASCAR races. Tom was well-known as an avid fan of Mark Martin.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lininger (Mary); mother, Jean Wincapaw; brother, Timothy “Tim” Lininger.

Tom is survived by his loving companion and wife of 47 years, Glenda Lininger, Gautier; two sons and one daughter, Steve Hinklin (Niki), Des Allemands, LA; Tina Crosslin (Preston), Gautier; Mathew Lininger, Gautier; 5 grandchildren, Cole Dufrene (Sydney), Elise Deimel (her fiancé’, Austin Wilson), Trey Crosslin, Hannah Waltman, Mathew “Lil Matt” Lininger; numerous other relatives and great friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, 11:00-12:30pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eric Smith officiating.  Following the service, there will be a private family committal service held at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors rendered.

Due to COVID-19, facial masks and social distancing will be necessary. For those unable to attend, you may watch his Funeral Service on the Funeral Home’s facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, please consider the organizations he preferred to support and send memorials to the M.I.A. AND P.O.W in his memory.
