Thomas "Tommy" Otto McDaniel, 58, of Gautier MS was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father in the early morning of June 8, 2021. Tommy was a devout Christian and a true family man. He loved only God more than he loved his family, his friends and his country. Tommy lived an amazing and wonderful life, and he touched the lives of everyone he met.
Tommy was born on January 17, 1963 in Pascagoula MS. He lived in Gautier, attending First Baptist Church Gautier his entire life. At First Baptist, Tommy became a faithful Ordained Deacon; an active member of both the WatchCare Team and the Kitchen & Hospitality Committee; and, the designated Coffee Maker & Server for Sunday School for everyone but primarily, for his sweet little ladies. When he was not serving coffee, Tommy enjoyed remembering special friends with cards; Making McDaniel Memories on cruises and family vacations; watching NASCAR, the Saints and other sports teams. Tommy was employed by Mississippi Department of Transportation for 33 years.
Tommy was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents, Otto and Eula McDaniel; his maternal Grandparents, W.A. and Willie Lou Foy; and, several other family members. Tommy is survived by his parents, Gene and Leonda McDaniel; his sister, Renee (Patrick) Kelly; his sister, Deonda (Daniel) Smith; nephews, Errick Smith (girlfriend Kayla Witthus) and Alston Smith; numerous relatives, devoted friends and TEAM TOMMY prayer warriors.
Pallbearers in Gautier will be Mike Foster, Walter Greene, Ronnie Johns, Bill Rushing, Paul Stauter, and Jim Roberts. Pallbearers in Magnolia will be Alan McDaniel, Mark McDaniel, David Alan McDaniel, Errick Smith, Alston Smith, and Clifford Kostmayer.
The family extends their eternal gratitude to Tommy's precious TEAM TOMMY prayer warriors for sustaining us with prayers, love, support and encouragement during this Journey.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 12, 2021, 10:00-12:00 noon, at First Baptist Church in Gautier. Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon with Rev. David Aultman officiating. Graveside service will be that afternoon at 4:30 at Terry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 1147 Church Road, Magnolia, MS 39652.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the TEAM TOMMY Coffee Fund at First Baptist Church of Gautier.
