Vickie H. Sebes

Vickie H. Sebes, “Aunt Vic” died suddenly on December 3, 2022. She is predeceased by her husband Samuel Sebes, and her parents Ralph and Janice Hesse.

Vickie is survived by her brother Scott (Irene) Hesse, nephew Christopher (Celia), grand niece Diana and grand nephew Apollo, nephews Aaron and Marc Hesse; sister Kristine (Greg Whitlow), niece Skye; sister Susan (Robert) Oakley, nephew Graham (Andrea), grand nephew Knox, niece Ciara (Warren) Huggins, grand niece Colleen, brother Mark (Wendy) Hesse, niece Emma and nephew Ethan, brother-in-law David (Mickey) Sebes, nephew John (Mary) Sebes, grand nephews Michael and Graham; nephew Joseph and niece Kathryn Sebes. Last but not least, she is survived by her best friend Rhonda Winegar and her son Taylor Winegar.

Vickie was a life-long employee of Zapata-Haynie Corporation, now Omega Protein. Her career spanned many facets of the facility and her institutional knowledge of how things worked is referred to daily at the plant.

Vickie loved going to the beach, a favorite being Ft. Morgan and Dauphin Island, and especially Sanibel Island to look for shells. She took her beach life back home with her flamingo flare. She travelled extensively with her siblings & their families on many trips both in the States and abroad. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was known as “Aunt Vic” to many well outside her family circle due to her continued presence in their lives. She was a talented and creative person - from making Halloween costumes to cross stitching Christmas ornaments and Easter egg gifts for her family. Recently she had taken up water color and started sending handmade birthday and Easter cards. She was an avid reader and always had one or two books to read. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 11, 2023 from 2 - 3:30 pm at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center in Moss Point, MS
