Virgil Lee Moore passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in Hattiesburg, MS at the age of 85.
Virgil was born August 12, 1938 in Carroll County, MS to James Russell and Pearl Gray Moore. He served in the Army National Guard and the United States Air Force. He served many years as a deputy with the Jackson County Sherriff’s Department. He was also a longtime member of Bethel Assembly Of God.
In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Moore; two children, Mary Lynn Moore and Virgil Lynn Moore “Dusty”; siblings, Gerry Jones and Wayne Moore.
He is survived by his children, Rusty Moore, Ray Moore, Chris Moore, Bobbie Hudgins and John Paul Moore; siblings. Raymond Moore, Len Moore and Donna Mangham; 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
At his request there will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Orange Grove Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
