Wanda Ethridge

Wanda Ethridge, age 80, of Gautier, Mississippi passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Ocean Springs Hospital, MS.  She was born May 19, 1945 in Jackson, Mississippi and was raised in Magee, Mississippi.   She moved from Preston, Mississippi to Gautier 8 years ago and has enjoyed living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

She was a former cook for over 20 years at East Mississippi State Hospital in Meridian, MS. Wanda devoted her life to her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wanda loved pool gatherings with others, Mardi Gra Parades and Balls, dancing in her younger years, and cooking for others.  She will be missed by everyone that knew her and loved her sweet and gentle spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Hosley Greer and Vera Vendell Crow Greer; husband of 25 years, George Ethridge; son, Scottie Goodin; brother, Billy Joe Greer. 

Wanda is survived by her devoted daughter, Melissa Watrous (Joe), Ocean Springs; loving son, Jimmy “Junior” Goodin (Pam), Preston, MS; brother, Dale Greer (Donna), Magee, MS; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Creel (Jim), Brandon, MS; Alisa Kennedy (Roger), Magee, MS. Five grandchildren that lovingly called her “Granny”, Kristen McGee, Kelley Hussey, Seth McGee, Taylor Goodin and Dasha Goodin;  9 great grandchildren, Aubrey Spear, Kennedy Hussey, Lane Hussey, Kyle Goodin, Alayah Peebles, Michael Peebles, Gavin Windham, Kayden Windham, and Kyee Windham.

The family will be having a private Celebration of Life Service.  You may send condolences to her family or share a memory of her on the Tribute Wall of this website.
