Justin “J.E.” Elwood Lovorn Sr. 85 of Pascagoula, MS passed away Friday, February 22, 2013.
Mr. Lovorn was born in Kosciusko , MS on February 1, 1928 to William and Faylene Lovorn and was raised in Thomastown, MS. He served in the United States Air Force in the 19th Troop Carrier Squad and participated in the Berlin Airlift after WWII. He was member of the VFW Post 3373, where he held a position officer of the day and The Elks. Justin married his true love, Ada Emily Clark on September 5, 1954. He had been a resident of Pascagoula since 1951. Mr. Lovorn was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding for 45 years as an Industrial Engineer and was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. He wasa devoted Southern MS fan but his greatest joy in life was being “Paw Paw” to eleven loving grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Mary Katherine Foster and a brother, Howard Hartwell Langdon.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ada Lovorn of Pascagoula, MS; four children, Mary Clare Lovorn Zelenka of Mobile, AL; Sissy Lovorn Zelenka and her husband Randy of Pascagoula, MS, Buddy Lovorn and wife Vickey of Pascagoula, MS ; a daughter, Margaret Anne “Meg” Lovorn Foster and her husband Walker of Pascagoula, MS; eleven grandchildren, Haley, Clark, Emily , Justin, Hilary, Lindsey, Matt, Elizabeth, Emma, Anne Marie, and Mary Walker.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8pm at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday At 10am at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula. Serving as pallbearers will be Clark Zelenka, Justin Lovorn, Matt Zelenka, Brandon Thomas, Mickey Miles, Billy Clark Jr. and David Clark.
